Open Science & the European Research Area Act: The Work Still to Be Done

On 10 June 2026, the Central Library of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) in Rome will host a (hybrid) study day to reflect on the profound transformations affecting the European research system and the challenges ahead in light of the forthcoming European Research Area (ERA) Act.
The event addresses pressing questions in European research policy on Open Science, strategic autonomy, and the sovereignty of knowledge infrastructures, with a particular focus on secondary publication rights, strengthening public and independent Open Science infrastructures, and reforming scientific evaluation systems.
